Welcome to the May edition of I love this!
This month I have chosen a shot from a recent family portrait session.
It was shot at Norah Head on the NSW Central Coast while the storm clouds hovered nearby. As is normal with portrait sessions the kids were starting to get bored, and when that happens I let them go. Sitting still with grins on their faces only lasts for about 10 mins, 15 mins max, so it’s really important to let them be kids. The shots I capture during these times are always the ones I love the most; no amount of posing can replicate real emotions.
I had asked Libby to go for a run and she wanted to be caught and swung around by her dad Paul. Even though you can’t see Paul’s face, you know he is grinning just as much as Libby is. It’s such a happy shot to me and perfectly candid, Libby is having so much fun and that’s what I always want in every session I have.
