What areas do you cover?
We are based in Sydney, but have car will travel! Anywhere from Newcastle to Wollongong and out to the Blue Mountains is covered in our standard rates, but we will come to you if you are outside of these areas. Dreamy destination weddings included – Tuscany anyone?!
What is photojournalistic photography?
Photojournalistic photography is natural, unobtrusive, candid, and definitely not in your face. We strive to capture you as you are with as little input as possible; laughing with friends and family, enjoying the moment, kids being kids. That’s not to say we won’t offer guidance if needed, as being in front of a camera is often confronting for some people.
How many photographers are at the shoot?
For weddings it will be me (Taryn) and my husband Aaron (yes, we rhyme!). Aaron has a style very similar to my own – and it helps that he is 6’5″ and a big booming voice, which is handy when I need to wrangle 100+ wedding guests into one shot!
Usually it will just be me on a portrait session. If your group is over 8 people Aaron is on hand to assist.
What is the booking process?
First step is to get in touch. I’m happy to go through any questions you have via email or over the phone.
If you decide to book I will make arrangements to meet you for coffee. That way we can get to know each other and go through what happens at your session, and for weddings go through your plans and discuss dresses and shoes 😉
How long till I get my images and how many will I get?
All your images are ready for viewing within 2 weeks of your session. Portrait sessions are usually quicker being we don’t take thousands of photos there! You will receive around 300 – 500 (or more) images for a wedding, dependant on how long we are at the wedding for, and portraits are usually around the 50 images mark.
How long can we book you for?
We have 3 Collections for weddings with Collection 1 being 5 hours, Collection 2 being 8 hours and Collection 3 for the entire wedding. You can start your time with Collection 1 and 2 at any stage of the day. Additional hours can be added on at an hourly rate.
Our most popular Collection is Collection 2 – this will comfortably cover everything from wedding prep all the way through to first dance. If your ceremony and reception are a fair distance apart, or we are doing a bit of travelling to your photo location you might be better off with the full day package, so please let us know your requirements so we can find the right fit for your day.

Portraits sessions are 2 around hours, however this depends on the subject. Newborns can be fickle (what, with all the sleeping and eating they need to do 😉 ) so we always allow as much time as possible. Families are around 1 – 2 hours, depending on the age of your kids as some younger kids just don’t have the attention span for last a full two hours. Engagements we can cover off in around an hour, but if there are multiple locations I would allow up to two.
I love albums and prints – are these included?
So do we!! We love them so much that albums are included in all our wedding Collections and prints are included in Collections 2 and 3. Our service doesn’t end with handing over a drive or DVD, for me photography is something you hang on the wall or pour over with friends, not keep in a draw 😉
Portrait sessions also get the print love, with up to 5 images included in your session fee. You are of course able to order as more as you like with many different sizes and finishes available, or get an album of all your favourite images, which is a great way to get more images at a good price.
