Last night I went through my nightly ritual of sitting up in bed with my iPad catching up on my favourite blogs via Flipboard (iPad/Android users – if you don’t have this app you should, it is seriously the best). One of my favourite blogs is from Jasmine Star, wedding photographer extraordinaire. Her recent post about goals struck a cord – I’m not a New Years resolution kind of girl, but her take on it really made sense.
At Christmas lunch with my family I saw something occur that I see happening far too often. You might have seen it happen in your house, or out in public. In fact, it could be happening RIGHT NOW. Or you might even be guilty of it yourself *GASP*! It is, brace yourself…
Gone are the days of the whole family in matching white shirts and jeans for a portrait session. Everyone is an individual so lets embrace it! But, there are some rules that will help make the photos look cohesive but not too matchy matchy.
What a week it has been! Spring has closed with a bang starting with a portrait shoot and event shoot on the same day (note to self: carrying around a 200m lens for hours on end will HURT!) then my exhibition with RAW Sydney on Wednesday. Throw into that keeping up with my day job and my family and you have one very tired Taryn.
